This seminar studies the intersection of images with texts in writing from ancient times to the present. It will engage with the practical as well as theoretical features of such writing with focuses on ancient Egyptian and Mayan, Early Modern Printing in Europe as well as the consideration of what “writing” constitutes in Modernism and Post-Structuralism.
