IHUM presents an inaugural Salon Series dialogue staged within an audiovisual landscape.
Wednesday, November 1st, from 4:30 to p.m. at 185 Nassau St, Room 219.
Julian Chehirian (History & IHUM) is working on a project about memory, attention and psychotherapy in post-socialist Bulgaria. Denise Xu (English & IHUM) is working on a project about plant-person hybridity and global opium trafficking in the long nineteenth century.
The Salon will begin with a multimedia evocation, transitioning towards a dialogue on the IHUM Fellows' parallel work with “latent archives,” or those that resist approach—encountered across beaches, gardens, islands, and domestic spaces. A third segment invites conversation and critique.
IHUM's Salon Series invites you to join the program’s doctoral students to reimagine ways that disciplines can talk together.
