All graduate students are invited to participate in the Race, Ethnicity, and Nationality (REN) Reading Group, a discussion group that meets monthly to critically engage with a variety of texts on the topics of race, ethnicity, and nationality, with particular attention paid to our contemporary moment, historical time, and global context. The group aims to challenge the “stability” of these categories and contend with our own role in perpetuating or dismantling these frameworks. Readings will frequently address issues of sexuality, class, religion and secularism, law, state violence and more.
